Veronica and I attended a training seminar in LA yesterday for Look Good Feel Better, an awesome program sponsored by the American Cancer Society. “Look Good Feel Better is a free national program designed to help improve the self-image and self-esteem of women experiencing appearance related side affects from cancer treatments.”
This program enlists the help of beauty professionals who conduct 2 HR classes in which women can learn about make-up, wigs, and nail care while under going cancer treatment. The class provides each woman with their own goody bag of make-up all of which is generously donated by the Professional Beauty Association. These classes are a wonderful opportunity for women to cut loose for a couple hours and also gives them a chance to bond with other women going through a similar experience.
I know Veronica and I are both very excited to be volunteers for this program and know our knowledge of wigs and proper wig maintenance will be helpful to those in need. If you are interested in learning more about the Look Good Feel Better program or would like to become a volunteer, you can visit their website at lookgoodfeelbetter.org or give them a call at 1.800.395.5665.
